On this “Chuck Amato Farewell” edition of the podcast, the guys recap the Christmas Carousel Holiday Festival and the 62nd Annual Raleigh Christmas parade. They also touch on the Dorothea Dix land bids that are going on. What to do with all that land? The cast is rounded off with an extended farewell Chuck sports section with their views on how Chuck did during his tenure at NC State University. Who will be the next head coach of the NC State Wolfpack? Runtime: 38:28
NC State Wolfpack Football head coach, Chuck Amato was fired on Sunday, November 26, 2006. This release occurred after an abysmal season of 3 wins and 9 losses. The 3 wins came from Appalachian State, Boston College, and Florida State. After the win against Florida State at home, the pack went on a seven game losing streak and ended the season to a 21-16 loss to East Carolina.
During the seven seasons Amato coached at State, he lead the pack to 5 bowl games and had an overall record of 49-37. In ACC play his record was 25-31. The Wolfpack never finish higher than 4th place in the ACC while Chuck was coaching.
At least we didn’t play Duke this year.
Top choices for head coach at this point seem to be Bill Cowher, Norm Chow, Paul Johnson, Jimbo Fisher, David Cutcliffe, Mike Leach, and Jim Donnan.
Tune into the RaleighSkyline.com Podcast next week when we discuss the top prospects.
