A few months ago I ventured to Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Bill Cowher’s (an NC State Grad) 2.5 million dollar house to see what it was like. Here are a couple photographs of the North Raleigh home.

What a dump!
December 19th, 2006 at 8:24 am
NOW I KNOW WHY… THIS IS HIS LAST YEAR….. AS HEAD COACH OF THE PITTSBURGH STEELERS…
WITH ALL OF THE MAINTENANCE TO THE HOUSE AND GROUNDS…HE WILL BE TOO BUSY TO COACH…
January 2nd, 2007 at 4:17 am
how opulent
January 3rd, 2007 at 6:22 pm
Loved the “what a dump” comment. If I lived in this house..I would never leave it. Padding around in my bunny slippers and housecoat..unshaven and permanent bed hair…thats the life!
I am a weak man..good thing I am a working putz.

January 7th, 2007 at 9:22 am
Nice house but, why does it have to be so big?
January 8th, 2007 at 10:40 am
Isn’t this what we all dream of having? I wish him nothing but the best and hope that he can enjoy it for a long, long time. He deserves it.
January 8th, 2007 at 11:20 am
it is not as big as my new house !
January 8th, 2007 at 1:42 pm
Bill, thanks for the 15 years of your life. The next coach has some very difficult shoes to fill.
Best of luck to you and yours!
Too bad I left the Raleigh area 1 1/2 years ago, also for my family…it would have been fun running into you at the mall off Rt 1!!
January 8th, 2007 at 9:05 pm
wow bill cowher. your house is small. SYKE.
January 8th, 2007 at 9:06 pm
i like your house. –kess i kinda wanna rent your house and have some parties. wanna make an exception for me? THANKS, LOVE YOU.
January 9th, 2007 at 11:39 am
Enjoy your time with your family, it won’t be long before some owner is willing to pay you Mike Holmgren money (8 mil) and you will be back to coaching, just becareful what team you coach. You’ll be hated by Steeler nation just as much and as fast as you were loved! You did get your SB but there was a lot of misery mixed in with that throughout the years. Good Riddens Jaw, your lack of emotion all season fully prepared me for this day. Its time for all of us to move on.
January 9th, 2007 at 12:36 pm
Congratulations, on many levels Mr. Cowher!! And, THANK YOU for being one of a dying breed in the world of NFL Coaches where loyalty, honor and integrity go farther than the all mighty dollar! You did it….”One for the thumb!!” What more could any Steeler fan want!!?? Wishing you and your family all the best in the years to come!!!
January 9th, 2007 at 4:01 pm
Hi Bill & family,
Wishing you the very best life has to offer. We are so proud to call you a Pittsburgher! Thanks for everything you have accomplished while you were here. Thanks too for being the person you are, honest, loyal, caring and a man of the greatest integrity. Guaranteed, you will be hard to replace but you certainly deserve to have this time with your family. Life is far to short to not take advantage of the opportunity when it arises. God bless you and your family!!Thanks so much!!
January 9th, 2007 at 5:39 pm

Thank you for being a super guy and coach. We will all miss you. Enjoy your life now with your wife and children. Good Luck!
January 11th, 2007 at 7:22 am
Beautiful house and as well it should be when you dish out $2.5 million. Greg in Ligonier – your house is bigger than the Cowher’s? I’m sure it’s just as beautiful. Wake up! Anyway, the Steeler Nation wishes Bill and his family the best and when Bill is coaching the Redskins in a couple of years, I will have another team to root for on Sundays. Go Steeler’s and also > the Pats and Ravens blow! Go Chargers!
January 11th, 2007 at 2:06 pm
Melissa – use spell checker, babe. Nothing like trying to be nasty and misspelling RIDDANCE!
January 11th, 2007 at 2:46 pm
I never thought I would see another super bowl from the Steelers in my life time. I lived off the 70’s championships for 26 yrs. Thank you for filling up one hand with another champion ship.If you decide to coach in the future, please don’t do it in Ohio! you know where we mean! Once a Steeler, always a Steeler, Good luck to you and the family! YUNZ GUYS
EARNED IT!
January 12th, 2007 at 10:21 am
Thanks for the fantastic 12 years, and I hope to see you coaching again some day. Just don’t beat the Steelers.
January 12th, 2007 at 12:55 pm
Good luck in whatever you get into. Your time in Pittsburgh was great for you and the Steelers. My Daughter lives in Wake Forest area about 2 1/2 miles from your new house. Maybe I will see you at Home Depot some day or at a game.
January 12th, 2007 at 6:17 pm
Good luck Bill. We hope you get what you have been deserving in your house. It’s going to be hard to watch the Steelers play without seeing you shot on camera at the sidelines. I liked when you got mad because of the unfair calls by the refs. You go Bill!
January 13th, 2007 at 9:00 am
bill, after all we went through as pittsburghers together, i never expected the day to come when you would leave, but all good things must come to an end,but like everything and everbody else you”ll be replaced and pretty much forgotten, but just remember family first, and know that any time you come back, give me a call, you and your family, dinner and drinks are on grace and me thanks for everything buddy, later
January 13th, 2007 at 11:20 am
The house is so beautiful! When people work hard and earn enough money to live their dream, they should go for it. After all, you can’t take it with you, and your kids will fight over it, anyway.
January 14th, 2007 at 9:27 am
Thanks for the memories, but where is your dish on that new house? How are yins gonna watch the stillers play? I have a feeling your gonna miss Dahntown Pittsburgh though and do the sell Iron City Beer down there? good luck in all you do , you derserve the best!!!

I’d hate to see the taxes on THAT house! Well, if it was in Allegheny County, I’d hate to see the taxes on it, lol.
January 16th, 2007 at 8:41 pm

January 19th, 2007 at 9:22 am

January 25th, 2007 at 10:47 am
Bill: As a Steeler season-tix holder, i want to thank you for the memories I have while you were here…I can still remember your very first game against the Houston Oilers and the “fake” punt…I knew right there and then that we have someone “special” as our new coach…I wish You, your Wife, and your Daughters all the best in what lies ahead in your lives…Once again…Thanks!
January 25th, 2007 at 6:27 pm

What does he plan on doing with all that space?
I would hope he has plans on holding a post Super Bowl Party for the victorious Steelers.
February 16th, 2007 at 12:01 pm
I can see what my years paying for thoughs expensiver tickets got me, 15 year to pay for that house. what did pittsburgh and the area get. one super bowl, and you call him a success. dream on.
February 16th, 2007 at 12:21 pm
They should hsave got rid of this guy after the steeler lost the 1st super bowl.
February 20th, 2007 at 12:13 am
Jealousy and envy gets us know where. He earned it. I am still a Steeler fan no matter what. with him or without him. I was one with Noll, then Cowher and will be with the new coach, and the coach after that.

What average working man or woman could afford a 2.5 million dollar home, they don’t care about pittsburgh only for contract reasons do they do press wise work. A true pittsbergher, i don’t think so. They beeg for the job afther there millioneers, they look for somewhere else to live with people of there statue.
