Wednesday, July 18th, 2007

Block B now has a name. After much speculation, it looks like Raleigh will have two more new towers east of the current construction site of RBC Plaza. Targeted for completion in 2012, the tallest for downtown will be 38 stories and another at 24 stories. Developer Gregg Sandreuter has also wants to go green, a first for a downtown Raleigh skyscraper. Stay tuned for more on this.

UPDATE: The proposal has the taller tower at 470 feet (over 500 actually, as Ernest pointed out), the shorter 410 feet. This translates to 500,000 square feet of office space, 75,000 square feet of residential with 270 hotel rooms and 270 condominiums.

The preliminary site place can be viewed here.
