Thanks for the great pics, Matt!!! RBC Plaza is certainly making some impact to the skyline. Can’t wait for the day when skyscrapers will be visible from the distance, particularly from the above angles. One quick survey will reveal many nice points from which the skyline can be viewed, but we need 4-5 towers above 600ft to really make an impression. Since we don’t have mountains, we can only hope to take advantage at the existing angles by getting tall structures.

WOW great shots Matt. These photos reveal how empty the downtown skyline really is. Thanks again for all you continue to do with this site.

Are they still putting that spire on top of it? If they use some strong lights to brighten it up, then we might be able to see the very tip of the skyline from other angles. Have you tried shooting from NCSU centennial campus?

The spire is still planned for the top. When RBC Plaza tops out, it will definitely be visible from all angles.

Lake Wheelers view and Saunders view are about the same to me…. My favorite Raleigh money shot is the one taken from the parking garage at the hospital on wake forest rd….but soon the belt line will have its array of buildings…the two new toers at North Hils, and the original beltline skyline (smoke tree towers, Ernst &Young…I forgot the name of the other)
