Unfortunately, for our standards, Two Hannover Square, Wachovia Capital Center and RBC Plaza qualify as skyscrapers. There are many opinions of what constitutes a "skyscraper" and none of them is a de facto definition. One school of thought may argue that anything above 350ft is a skyscraper, and this is the one that I follow. Can't wait for the real skyscrapers, though - something above 600ft ;)

If raleigh had an MLB baseball team...they should call it the Carolina Flight, and the stadium would be located in downtown raleigh....the stadium would be called F.F.F. (First in Flight Field).....heck if raleigh ever had an extremely highrise tower, they should call it the First in Flight tower...just some very unique fantasy of mine, but something for the city officials to consider....take care.

Yes, that lightning was a bit on the busy side last night! I've learned not to complain when it rains or storms anymore, though. Running out to take photos was definitely not something that would have popped into my head, though! lol I can already see that you're eagerly plotting to get some lightning snapshots once that spire is in place!

That first photo looks like BB&T is getting hit hard. It looks like RBC will be getting it's crown and spire before too long.
