I just fouond your site. I love your pictures!!!! I am a Raleigh native, and I love seeing pictures of “my” city. Yours are the best I’ve seen. Jeff, I came back from a walk some time ago and I can assure you there is a lot of work being done at RBC Plaza. I think they are doing a lot of interior work and there is no need to finish the exterior of the top floors - get some fresh air before the humidity comes :LOL: They are also finishing up with the balconies. I wouldn’t be concerned at this point in time because the project is ahead of schedule, as far as I know - we have the drought to thank for it.

LOL Ernest. Yes I did mean the exterior glass. It seemed like they were adding a new floor’s worth every couple of days, but they stopped at the top floor of the main level last week and haven’t continued.

RBC Plaza looks cool in the first pic. And I was at the Farmer’s Market and saw the skyline! At least the tops of BB&T and RBC Plaza.

Jeff, you do know that they are done with adding floors, right? :LOL: Just kidding, I assume you are talking about the exterior. I have not noticed any slow down. In fact, I noticed that the glass exterior is close to completion. Which part of the tower do you see as slow moving?

Drew, I first noticed that angle when I had to visit the Greek Orthodox Church - yes, I am Greek-American - a few months ago, and I was pleasantly surprised with the view of the skyline Not much to talk about, but nevertheless interesting. I can only begin to imagine what the view will be from Soleil Center. Just having such a view of the skyline from that tower will be AMAZING!!! Of course, it looks better during winter time, without the trees blocking the view.

The mystery angle is about 10 miles to the south of DT, and I doubt anyone would get the location unless they had witnessed it from there before.

TC, I had the exact same discussion with a friend of mine, two days ago… Two Progress Plaza - assuming you were not talking about One Progress Plaza - should have been MUCH taller, especially when we consider the money spent on it. There is hope, though, that some day someone might build something tall next to One Progress Plaza. In a way, I am glad the plans for the 10-story Lichtin Bldg fell through… That location deserves something massive. Worst case scenario, a 600-footer I have a secret wish: The Edison does well well and Greg Sandreuter manages to purchase the parcel adjacent to One Progress Plaza for something monumental… That is only a wish, so don’t spread any rumors :LOL:

Great photos (interesting skyline views): What a shame Progress Energy building is not 30-40 stories (perfect location for a building of that size - hopefully “The Edison” commits to a minimum of 38 floors and the second building is over 30). The Site One location needs to be taller than what is planned and the sites next to Raleigh Memorial need to be very tall (two similar towers that are both 40 stories or greater - would complete that end of “F” Street)

Need to continue to go tall on Hillsborough and fill in the holes between RBC Plaza and Wachovia building

When I was in Wake Forest back in January, I noticed Raleigh skyline from US 1 by the Carolina Ale House. It reminded me a lot of Atlanta when I’m at my grandpas house in Sandy Springs near Perimeter Mall.

The mystery angle is from a SW location, if I see the alignment of the buildings correctly. I could go as far as saying it is off of an I-40/Beltline location, but I may be completely wrong… I’ll wait for Matt to reveal the secret :LOL:

The skyline looks more mature with the RBC plaza all topped out. The shots from the Boylan angle never get old to me.

I’m trying to think of where that mystery angle is taken from… maybe somewhere in Garner? Not even sure if it’s inside or outside the beltline because your camera zoom is quite powerful.

This is an incredible collection!!! Matt can make our skyline shine - literally and figuratively. As for RBC Plaza, it really looks great in the third photo from the end (labeled 16). Once The Edison gets built, this angle will look incredibly attractive, as both towers will be visible!!! Now, I can’t wait until 2012 :LOL:

Great shots as always, Matt! I’d been waiting for some updated Dix skyline shots and you delivered right on time. Nice lightning photos, too; I was on top of the Progress Energy Bdlg. parking deck for the storms Friday night a week and a half ago and it was awesome. 5 acorns!
