The Yancy's site has very quickly removed the signs and have blocked the windows with paper, indicating a new restaurant may already be moving in. Ruth's Chris and Morton's were in contractual discussions for the site but i have not heard anything definitive.

Any updates?

Jean, the website says that employment information is "coming soon", so for now, you may just have to call them or go there and ask about it in person. The employment information contact for them is jobs@marriottraleigh.com | Also, their main phone number is (919)-833-1120. Hope this helps :)

I also think that Two Hanover is an interesting building. It looks like they were trying to replicate an art-deco style, however, it wasn't executed very well. The lighting scheme on the building leaves a lot to be desired, and I really don't like the green structure on the roof. But, all in all, I think it is an interesting building. Raleigh doesn't have the downtown drive that Charlotte has with new buildings going up everywhere you look. So let's just be content with what we do have. Love it or hate it, it will be part of our skyline until something bigger is built to block it out.

You know, I saw the construction on North Hills East today...wow. Also, the only reason that is remotely connected to this post is the fact that the CAPTRUST Tower at North Hills East is being built as part of the project. It will be 17 stories/260 feet tall.

I think if they had just provided a little bit of texture on the face it wouold have gone a long way to make the thing look better. Maybe just having 3 or 4 sections of rooms sticking out a foot or 2 from the main facade every so often, just to break up teh solid wall.

In that location of downtown, only One Hannover Square looks almost as ugly as the Marriott Hotel... Two Hannover Square is insulted by the presence of that stupid Marriott Hotel, IMHO. Can't wait for something better to make that hotel disappear from the money shot :( As for Two Hannover Square, it will look more like a filler some day... I hope.

For once I agree with Mongo, that BB&T building is still an eyesore. We do not need anymore photos or postcards promoting this ugly building. Wachovia, RBC and other structures are the focal points moving forward (get rid of any postcard with the BB&T building on it (are the city politicians getting kickbacks from the owner of this building, it get's too much exposure)

That hotel is not that bad looking especially as it stands beside that BB&T building. I really understand why they didn't position the building to offer skyline views from the rooms. The important thing for Raleigh is now folks can get a nice room there. I am sure other hotels will follow.

It looks better than the Sheraton, but I agree they could have done a much better job on the exterior. It is not horrible though. I was pleasantly surprised with the interior however.

These are great. I'd love to see you join Flickr, not because you need it, but because we'd like to have you. You could upload much smaller sizes, set the copyrights and everything. You'd just represent Raleigh really well.

And if you don't join, it's fine. No worries. I'm still going to keep coming here!

it actually looks like a rather nice hotel to stay in, I just don't want to look at the outside, yuck. It's actually Marriott who should be ashamed (as much as city council). They got a prime piece of real estate in one of the US' most up-and-coming cities, and they build something that looks like the holiday inn in crabtree. What is that about? Not like Marriott is short of funds for nice facades or something. minus 5 stars for ugly architecture.

piece of [edit] building...the council should have never backed down on requiring better exterior finishes....looks like a multistory Comfort Inn along the beltway....at least it looks 1/2 decent at night. great photos.
