The building is nice. I LOVE the kitchens and hardwood floors. Are you kidding me with that pool? That is a joke. Are you kidding me about the prices? I thought I read prices are like $300k. THey are kidding again, right? I mean for downtown Raleigh. THere is NOT even a good skyline to look at. Jeez. This is crazy. I’d never pay that for d-town Ral.

I have been to West once, during the construction phase – had to walk to the top floor – and I must say that the future residents will be more than pleased. Just the views, alone, are well worth it, but the units I saw were also very nice, although unfinished. Not to mention the building’s proximity to Glenwood South’s destinations. Just like Quorum Center, this is a pioneer project in that section of downtown. Can’t wait until more similar buildings fill up the un(der)utilized parcels around there. The West At North is also pleasing to the eye at the street level, IMHO.

To all the eager swimmers and Louganis wannabe patrons. That pool, I am sure is designed for social reasons and not to work on your swimming skills. If you need a olympic sized pool; you need to join the Y or a community pool near the section 8 you live in.

Another great set, and like Adam, I just can tell you how much I want to get the kind of access you’ve got. Of course, I know its a product of all your hard work – you deserve it!
Is it the angle of the lens, or does the building really get wider and lean out towards the street as it goes up?

Looking at it, assuming the pavers are the 24″x24″ that they appear, it is about 20feetx14feet.

While the pool isn’t the biggest pool ever, I think I made the it look smaller when I “de-fisheyed” that particular photo. I replaced it with the original fisheye version.

I like the building … I know it’s a bit of birthday cake style that is so popular now but anything is better than nothing in that stretch. And that is certainly not a slouch of a building.

Note: Shouldn’t the pool have a “NO SWIMMING” sign on the patio instead of no diving – if the average size human stretches out to do their stroke of choice, they are in grave danger of whacking their head on the other side.

West At North is a great project and should become a catalyst for more such infills and redevelopments. Just like Quorum Center, I would label this project a pioneer vision. It will bring a lot of new residents to downtown, particularly in Glenwood South. Judging from the photos of the nearby areas, we can easily see the potential for redevelopment. In fact, we can see that it is mandatory developers pay attention to this area. Not only because we need to get rid of empty and underutilized lots, but because we wish to create a great flow of activity between the CBD and Glenwood South.

Loved the photos, especially the first and last ones… They look more like renderings than a real photos :LOL: Thanks for sharing your work, Matt.

Not bad, sidewalk experience could have been MUCH better. Is that a pool on the rooftop or a toilet? Are they kidding with the size of that pool!

Now they need to develop All around this building. The rest of that area (to comedy works) is pathetic!
