this is one of my best series right here!!! especially the 1st pic...beccause when they add on to the skyline you will be able to see all the towers from here and Cameron village unlike the original South Saunders view where the BB&T overshadows everything

Matt thanks for these great pics. I like the one of what I think are the cranes for the Cap Trust building? Can you revisit that shot again once the building is visible above the trees?

Evan,

I didn't write captions this time around because when I posted the series I had just come back from the ER after getting 15 stitches in my thumb (and on Percocet), and wasn't up for it. They will return.

I have a couple of favorites of my own - first of all, love seeing the police horses! How cool would it be to see some of the space at Dorothea Dix preserved as park space and then eventually intregrated into downtown through growth, and regularly see horses patroling the area?

I also love the shot from Peace Street & St. Mary's (4th shot from the end) by Broughton HS. I've taken a number of photos from this corner both at day and night and even though the traffic signals and utility lines get in the way, I love the downtown density that appears from this angle. If the Hillsborough and Winston Towers were ever to be built, that would make for a really impressive shot from here! Matt, I am surprised you haven't found a way to somehow get on top of Broughton HS to get over those utility lines and put that zoom lens to use from there. ;)

I still wish that something could be done with the property below the Boylan St. bridge next to the wye. Granted, it has been cleaned up some in the past year and looks much better than it once was, but I would love to see that property developed just to clean up the look of the area in front of the downtown skyline there. Hmm, seems to me that the words "raleighskyline.com" could have been Photoshopped somewhere on the side of that old boxvan trailer there. LOL

Amazing as always !!!!

Funny thing about RBC Plaza is it's like giving a kid one piece of candy .... makes the child want more more more. I can't wait til the skyline really fills out. But it's probably best that the child doesn't get all the candy he wants, makes the candy taste better. So when the skyline is truly - here it will be all the more satisfying in that is was built slowly and thoughtfully over time.

Of course we could go a LITTLE faster :)

Great shots! The third picture (I believe taken from D.H. Hill) is fantastic. This should be the new "money" shot for the city. It really enhances the skyline. As a proud alum of NCSU, I dig all of the photos that include State's campus. Thanks.

Simply amazing shots. The colors are so beautiful, too!!! I am glad you provided us with so many gorgeous skyline shots. While I always enjoy the view from Duke Hospital's parking deck, I must say I was impressed with the photo taken from NCSU (the 3rd shot, to be exact). The overall clarity of the photos is simply amazing, too. Thanks, Matt, your work is always outstanding!!!

I don't know about you guys, but I love the view of North Hills from Duke Hospital (14th photo). It is simply amazing and I think that once the rest of the high-rises are built there that little section will look amazing. A second skyline for Raleigh will be developed :)
