Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Too bad we don’t get snow here this time of year (or hardly ever for that matter). I am sure Matt R. could so some nice shots.

January 1, 2009 woo!!!!!! The year of the Democrats! U.S. Senator-elect and incumbent N.C. Senator from the 27th District Kay R. Hagan and Representative-elect of N.C.’s 8th Congressional District Larry Kissell will be sworn into office on January 3rd, although the new U.S. Congress will not meet until January 6th. Governor-elect and Lieutenant Governor-incumbent Beverly E. “Bev” Perdue and Lieutenant Governor-elect and N.C. Senator-incumbent from the 46th District Walter H. Dalton will be sworn in on January 10th. And, finally, as you all know, the swearing in of President-elect and previously incumbent U.S. Senator from Illinois Barack H. Obama, Jr. and Vice President-elect and incumbent U.S. Senator from Delaware Joseph R. “Joe” Biden will take place at noon on January 20th. All right, Happy New Year! Also, I don’t want any political anything coming as a result of this post. Notice how I didn’t bash anyone in this post? I want to keep it that way. That is all.

Correction: Senator-elect Kay Hagan and Representative-elect Larry Kissell will be sworn in on January 6, not 3.
    “12:56 AM EDT, January 1, 2009”
    I meant 12:56 AM EST, January 1, 2009

    11:20 AM EDT, January 1, 2009

Oh yes Ari…..I’m sure nothing political was meant by your post at all. Eyes rolling. I’m sure all of these people will be absolutely wonderful!!! Just like the Soleil Center has been wonderful for our skyline!

Nice sarcasm, Tdawg. But seriously, I just wanted to tell everyone when our new Congressman, U.S. Senator, Governor, Lieutenant Governor, President and Vice President would be inaugurated, in case anyone was thinking of going (not to suggest anything).

But seriously, I think that just in these first two years of a Democratic-controlled Congress and Cabinet that a lot of things will change for the better, particularly for African-Americans and Hispanics.

I gotta go, I stayed up until 5 this morning and I think my watch has a Y2K9 problem.

I don’t think anyone cares Ari. I’ll watch Obama’s inauguration but that’s it.

Say “Representative-Elect Larry Kissell” 3 times fast.

There are hundreds of websites out there for political discussion. This is not one of them. Please.

    @Aaron: LOL

@Hammer Time: Like I said, I didn’t want any political responses from that. Also, listing those inaugurations wasn’t “political discussion”. It’s listing when your elected officials take office. But I’ll shut up now.

Now, a related to the skyline question:

Anyone got a height estimate on The Hillsborough?

Also, did you know that Google Earth has height estimates for building’s. I’ll explain later if anyone’s interested. I’m not trying to sell something.

Going to go upgrade my operating system,
    Ari

Ari…get Vista. Dont listen to the general population, it doesn’t suck!!

Actually, I can’t get Vista, I only have two Macs. Actually, I have around six or seven PCs, it just that none of them work. The last two to die were my 2003 eMachine, whose CPU crashed, and my 2004 Averatec 5400 Series laptop, which has a worm that won’t let it boot. As you could guess, I’m pretty fed up with Microsoft, Windows, and PCs in general. Also, I’m aware that it doesn’t suck, but I only have Macs.
