Really love the wide angle. I bet it still feels weird cranking a few grand worth of camera and lens up on that thing, seeing it so far over your head on a 2 inch wide pole.
I was afraid that the globe would feel more overwhelming, and I am glad I was wrong. It fits just perfect!!! The NC SECU Building is also rising more by the day and soon we should see the facade going up.
There’s an article on NCDENR’s Facebook that says the globe… which they’re calling the SECU Daily Planet… is supposed to open later this year?! I thought it got pushed back till at least next spring
We are so lucky to have Matt here in Raleigh. His talent as a photographer is evident. And his passion for
Raleigh’s skyline and his sharing it with us is much appreciated by me.

Thanks, Matt. Although I get to see that from my window, it looks better through your lenses. Gotta love that tripod 🙂

a theater for science stuff, apparently broadcast to classrooms around the state… and i’m sure for the entertainment of visitors, too.

I agree, thank you, Matt! You’re a true artist!
I love Raleigh’s Daily Planet! It’s so unlike anything else here in Raleigh, I’m so excited about it! I hope it’s shiny!
