Here's a photographic recap of the events of the second annual Raleigh Wide Open held in downtown Raleigh on Fayetteville Street. It didn't seem as crowded as last year, but I'd still rate it as a success. Most people were probably still at home typing "Eddie Money" into iTunes to try and remember what song he sang back in the 80s.
Still people packed into Fayetteville Street.
Wide open.
Horse.
Hargett and Fayetteville.
RBC Plaza should be appear complete at this time next year.
People eagerly await...Eddie Money.
Police begin to clear the road for the parade.
Biking, walking... Segwaying.
People waiting for the parade.
Looking toward the capitol.
The weather was great.
Deja vu from last year's Wide Open.
A sad beer bottle.
Storm Squad.
I think I can make it around this turn.
Is that Kramer?
Crowed street.
Flurry of activity.
More flurrying.
More waiting for the fireworks.
Fayetteville Street looked good.
George Washington had the best view for the fireworks.
Motion blur.
Raleigh Wide Open fireworks begin.
Fireworks.
Crane silhouette in fireworks.
Raleigh should have more fireworks downtown.
More fireworks.
Again.
Definitely not as packed as last year.
Pyrotechnics.
Fireworks over Fayetteville Street.
The end.
