I didn’t personally feel today’s earthquake, but I checked my home security cameras to find one of them captured the shaking, along with my dog Beau and cat Grayson reacting to the tremors. Beau could be seen barking 4 minutes before the shaking occurred.
P.S. The time stamp is 11 minutes fast. P.S.S. The infrared camera makes the couch look blue.

…and you didn’t make this camera shake by any chance….?
Just kidding.
It was actually very surprising- an a bit scary news. I guess earthquakes on the East Coast are not very comon, are they?

As a geologist, I’m really disappointed that I didn’t feel it. I was working on a project down on the Coastal Plain, but I got several texts from back in Raleigh when it happened.
Thanks for posting Matt. Very interesting how Beau sensed it b/f the humans could feel it.

I was enjoying some of the great views of the skyline from Lonnie Poole with my dad when the Earthquake happened. I completely missed it.

I live on the 4th floor and my entire living room swayed back and forth a few times. Definitely not the most comfortable feeling in the world.

Garver…my house is pretty close to Lonnie Pool. Apparently lots of people missed it. My wife and I were near triangle town center and had no idea.

The truth is, the epicenter was 150 miles NE of Raleigh, so I am not surprised it was not felt as much here. I work on the 5th floor and I barely felt it. Of course, people in Richmond have a different take on this, as they were near the epicenter.
Matt, thanks for the video. Animals sense the earthquakes early enough to offer a warning. I remember when I lived in Greece as a child, the dogs would go nuts before an earthquake. When you heard them barking a lot, you knew something may be coming.
